Terms of Service

Last updated: May 3, 2026

Acceptance

By creating an account or using The Produce Project website or mobile apps (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

The Produce Project is a produce encyclopedia and learning tool. Content is provided for general informational purposes — it is not medical, nutritional, or professional advice. Always use your own judgment when handling food.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use.

Purchases

Some features of the mobile app require a one-time purchase processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law and platform policy. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their store policies.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse the Service or attempt to disrupt it; reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service except as permitted by law; submit content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful; impersonate others; or use the Service to send spam.

User content

If you submit content (gallery photos, profile information, etc.), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the Service. You retain ownership of your content. You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant this license.

Intellectual property

The Service, including text, graphics, logos, icons, and software, is owned by The Produce Project and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the Service except as expressly allowed.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Storage life, ripeness, and seasonality information is approximate; always inspect food before eating.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Produce Project will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email when possible. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which The Produce Project is operated, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
