Privacy Policy

Overview

The Produce Project ("we", "our", "us") provides a produce encyclopedia, recipes, learning content, and certification tools through our website and mobile apps. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password (managed by Supabase Auth). You may optionally add a display name, role, and home state.

Content you create. Favorites, certification attempts, quiz answers, and gallery submissions are stored against your account.

Purchase information. If you buy a one-time unlock through the App Store or Google Play, payment is processed by Apple or Google. We receive an anonymized purchase token through RevenueCat to grant your entitlement; we never see your card details.

Technical data. Standard server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention. Cookies are used only for authentication sessions.

How we use information

We use the information above to operate the service, authenticate you, deliver content you requested, grant paid entitlements, prevent abuse, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

We share data only with the providers required to run the service: • Supabase — database, authentication, and storage. • RevenueCat / Apple / Google — to validate purchases and entitlements. • Hosting providers — to serve the website and apps.

We may disclose information to comply with law or protect the safety and rights of users.

Data retention

We retain account data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us; on deletion we remove your personal data within 30 days, except records we are legally required to keep (such as proof of a completed paid transaction).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email privacy@the-produce-project.com.

Children

The Produce Project is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use industry-standard practices including TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and Supabase Row-Level Security to ensure users can only access their own records. No service is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and notify us of any suspected unauthorized access.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email when possible. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
